We have a HUGE tasting at the North Freo store this week with a winemaker and winery that have been absolutely killing it of late! Join us in welcoming the legendary Julian Langworthy to launch the brand new vintages of the Deep Woods Estate Reserve 2023 Chardonnay and 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon...two of his favourite wines yet.
Timing couldn't be better for this tasting as Julian and Deep Woods have cleaned up at both the Margaret River Wine Show and WA Good Food Guide Wine Awards recently. We don't think we've seen such a successful awards season for one winery in a long time, so of course we've picked a few of the award winners to add to the tasting line up for this Friday 8th Nov....it's going to be a good one!
At the 2024 WA Good Food Guide Wine Awards Deep Woods was crowned 'Producer of the Year' and the Chief Winemaker, Julian Langworthy himself, was named 'Winemaker of the Year'. On the same night they also took home 'Wine of the Year', 'Best Single Vineyard Wine' & 'Best Regional Wine' for their 2022 Single Vineyard G2 Cabernet Sauvignon. PLUS the 2024 Single Vineyard Albariño and 2023 Cabernet Franc snuck onto the 'Top 25 Wines of 2024' list.
That's a serious list of accolades...all in a night's work! But wait, there's more.
The success continued at the 2024 Margaret River Wine Show last week, securing another two trophies; 'Wine of Provenance' and 'Best Alternative White' for Reserve Chardonnay (2023, 2017 and 2014) and 2024 Single Vineyard Albariño respectively. Plus another six gold medals across the range.
