FANGBONE is the newest sustainability initiative in the wine world! Renewable wine of the future has just landed at both Old Bridge Cellars North Fremantle and Como.
The Fangbone initiative by Dormilona offers a sustainable wine solution with a reusable 1-litre bottle made from recycled glass. Customers buy a bottle with a deposit, enjoy the wine and return the empty bottle for a refill. This reduces single-use packaging waste and supports a more sustainable wine industry.

Did you know that 51% of Australia’s 1600 kilotonnes of glass packaging ends up in landfill each year? Award-winning Margaret River winemaker, Josephine Perry, has made it her mission to combat these stats. Here's how it works...simply pay a $10 deposit on the bottle the first time you purchase, then refill and repeat at the reduced, renewable price.
The wines on offer will rotate as time goes on, giving small-batch, artisan winemakers a chance to show their wares in a sustainable fashion. Kicking of with some Dormilona favourites, we have the new one litre bottles of:
- 2024 Dormilona Chenin Blanc: Hand-harvested in Yallingup, with notes of lychee, green pear, and a mineral finish. ($30 + initial deposit)
- 2023 Dormilona House Orenji: A blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of quince, oriental spices, and soft tannins. ($25 + initial deposit)
- 2024 Dormilona House Tinto: Bright, juicy red wine with raspberry notes, perfect chilled. ($25 + initial deposit)
For some value context, 750ml of Dormilona Orenji would usually cost you $27.95. Through the Fangbone initiative, you'd get 1000ml at $25!!
